Britons managed to flee a sinking Uber car after it drove into the sea off the French Riviera.
Nick Christoforou controlled to open the door and swim to protection after the car plunged off the tip of a jetty in Cannes.
He said he was once then in a position to in finding fellow passenger Sophia Toon. Had it not been for his movements, they “would all be 100% lifeless”, he instructed the Solar newspaper.
Uber mentioned the motive force, who also escaped, was “no longer able” to use its app.
He was reportedly breathalysed and found to be sober.

“One minute I Was in the again of an Uber heading house, and the following I Was in the sea,” stated 31-year-vintage Mr Christoforou, from north London,
“I controlled to get the car door open and got to the surface to find the others.
“If I wasn’t in a have compatibility and able state we would all be 100% lifeless.”
The experience-hailing app reportedly nonetheless charged him for the travel, even though the fare has when you consider that been refunded.
An Uber spokeswoman instructed the newspaper: “We contacted both passengers to make sure they have been OK and are offering counselling whilst they await the outcome of their insurance declare.
