Rita Moreno is to return to West Facet Tale nearly 60 years after showing in the authentic film version.
The 86-year-antique, who won an Oscar for taking part in Anita in the 1961 film, will absorb a job newly created for her in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation.
Moreno will even serve as an executive manufacturer at the film, set to start shooting subsequent summer season.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I see myself revisiting this seminal work,” the actress told Deadline.
“And to be asked by means of Steven Spielberg to participate is just thrilling! Then to work together with the bright playwright, Tony Kushner – what a wonderful stew! i’m tingling!”
