US health officers have issued a blunt warning for individuals to avoid Honey Smacks, a well-liked breakfast cereal linked to a salmonella outbreak.
The Facilities for Illness Control and Prevention (CDC) advised customers: “don’t devour this cereal.”
more than 1,000,000 packets of the product have been recalled via the producer Kellogg’s in June after ONE HUNDRED people were infected in 33 states.
The cereal is the most likely source of the salmonella outbreak, the CDC mentioned.
Salmonella infections can cause illness, or loss of life in uncommon instances. No deaths have been mentioned in the latest outbreak.
“although some of the cereal has been eaten and no person were given sick, throw the remainder of it away or go back it for a refund,” the CDC stated in a press release on its website.
“do not devour any Kellogg’s Honey Smacks cereal, regardless of package size or very best-by way of date,” it said.
The observation mentioned salmonella lines were found in both unopened and leftover samples of Honey Smacks at a couple of locations.
