Japan’s climate agency has declared a heatwave sweeping the country a natural crisis, with no less than 65 deaths recorded in the earlier week.
An agency spokesman warned that “unparalleled levels of heat” had been being observed in a few areas.
More than 22,000 folks had been admitted to hospital with heat stroke, just about half of them aged, emergency officers say.
The heatwave displays no signal of abating, forecasters say.
