Police in Sweden have introduced a manhunt after thieves swiped some of the country’s crown jewels from a cathedral and escaped through speedboat.
Two valuable crowns and an orb belonging to a 17th Century king and queen have been taken at around midday on Tuesday in Strängnäs, close to Stockholm.
Witnesses mentioned they noticed two men working from the cathedral, which was once open to the general public and internet hosting a lunch fair.
They had been noticed motoring off into Lake Malaren, and feature now not been observed since.
Police have launched a huge search operation, however these days have no suspects.
“It Is 1-ZERO to them at this time,” police spokesperson Thomas Agnevik told Swedish media. “It’s inconceivable to position an economic value in this, it is priceless pieces of nationwide passion.”

The royal jewels are adorned with gold, treasured stones and pearls, and are available from the 1611 funeral regalia of Sweden’s Charles IX and Kristina the Elder.
A witness, who is getting married within the Strängnäs Cathedral next week, informed local information channel Aftonbladet he contacted the police.
“I knew immediately they were burglars on account of the way they had been behaving,” Tom Rowell stated. “It Is despicable that individuals might steal from a holy construction and a ancient construction.”
Mr Agnevik mentioned that the crown jewels could have been saved in locked and alarmed glass presentations that the thieves may have had to break into.
No one was harm during the housebreaking but church workforce have been shaken, local media pronounced.
