John Jarratt: Wolf Creek actor to stand trial on rape price

Australian actor John Jarratt is to face trial over an alleged rape in Sydney in 1976, a court docket has ruled.

Mr Jarratt, perfect recognized for his function in horror movie Wolf Creek, was charged through police in August.

It is said that the actor, then elderly 24, raped an 18-12 months-antique lady at a home in a suburb of internal Sydney.

Mr Jarratt, now 66, has pleaded no longer in charge. His legal professional informed a courtroom that it could be a “short, sharp” trial.

The actor stood and nodded on Thursday when instructed through a justice of the peace that his trial could start past due next year, Australian media reported.

Police started investigating the case final December after being contacted by means of the alleged victim.

He first played Mick Taylor in Wolf Creek in 2005 – a movie a few killer who pursues backpackers in the outback. He has reprised the position in a sequel and a TELEVISION series.
