Former Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Ed King, who co-wrote the hit Sweet House Alabama, has died elderly 68.
The musician died at home in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday, consistent with a post on his Facebook page.
The explanation for death is not identified. in keeping with Rolling Stone, he had been combating lung cancer.
King, who was born in California, joined the rock band in 1972. He left 3 years later after preventing with lead singer Ronnie Van Zant.

But he retired in 1996, having been recognized with congestive heart failure. in keeping with The Tennessean, King had a center transplant in 2011.
King, who performed with Strawberry Alarm Clock earlier than becoming a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Status in 2006, at the side of all the surviving individuals of the band from sooner than the crash.
Fellow Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington said he used to be “surprised and saddened” by the inside track.
“Ed was once our brother, and a perfect songwriter and guitar player,” he mentioned. “i do know he’ll be reunited with the remaining of the lads in Rock and Roll Heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are along with his circle of relatives.”
