Heavy flooding within the Canadian city of Toronto nearly caused two men trapped in an elevator to drown.
Police rescued the 2 men who have been standing on top of a handrail so as to stick above 6ft of water (2m) as emerging waters flooded a basement underneath.
A police spokeswoman mentioned there was “just one foot of airspace left” for the 2 to breath.
Elsewhere within the town, the police marine unit had to rescue drivers whose cars were flooding.
Police officers gained a decision on Tuesday night that two males were trapped in an elevator in a basement at the north facet of town, spokeswoman Constable Jenifferjit Sidhu mentioned.

The dramatic rescue used to be no longer the just one of the night time.
Earlier, police rescued passengers from four cars that have been totally submerged in water in a flooded underpass in downtown Toronto.
Setting Canada stated 2.5in (64mm) of rain fell in barely over two hours Tuesday evening in a few portions of the city, and rain continued on Wednesday morning.
