Migrants and asylum seekers crossing the Mediterranean now face a fair deadlier journey then they’ve in the previous, the UN refugee agency has warned.

In a file, the agency says that while the choice of people arriving in Europe has fallen significantly, the selection of deaths has risen sharply.

Traffickers are having to take greater dangers as there may be extra surveillance from the Libyan coastguard, it says.

More than 1,600 other folks have died seeking to succeed in Europe thus far this year.
