Nigeria police arrest traditional priest after laying curse

A NINETY FOUR-yr-vintage conventional priest has been arrested in Nigeria after cursing the alleged perpetrators of a contemporary spate of violence.

Anazo Ilomuanya was once employed by means of a group of youths trying to end killings affecting Ozubulu town, within the south-east of the rustic, police say.

The police arrested the traditional priest after area people complained.

The battle, thought to be between rival drug gangs, led to the killing of THIRTEEN churchgoers ultimate year.

It is assumed that the perpetrators mistakenly concept the meant aim of the assault used to be attending the St Philip’s Church.

“The youths of town, under the title of Involved Indigenous Folks of Ozubulu in searching for a method to finish the killings, consulted the normal priest to lay curses at the other folks involved,” police spokesperson Haruna Muhammed told BBC Igbo.

But others within the the town were unsatisfied and mentioned the priest and the youths to the police, Mr Muhammed added.

Those arrested are as a result of seem in courtroom, however it is doubtful what they’ll be charged with as it is not a criminal offense to put a curse on any person under Nigerian legislation.
