Syria conflict: Russia ‘resumes Idlib air strikes’

Russian warplanes have reportedly bombed the rebellion-held Syrian province of Idlib, the place troops have been getting ready for a massive offensive.

If confirmed, they would be the first such air strikes there in 3 weeks.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump warned Syria’s Bashar al-Assad in opposition to launching a “reckless assault” on Idlib.

But Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected the warning and stated the Syrian army was once “getting ready” to transparent a “nest of terrorists” there.

Mr Peskov mentioned the al-Qaeda-linked jihadist combatants who dominate Idlib were threatening Russian military bases in Syria and blocking off a political method to the seven-12 months civil battle.
