Thieves in Paraguay have stolen FORTY TWO tough rifles from the police armoury.
During an inspection, officers discovered that the FN FAL combat rifles have been replaced with wooden and plastic replicas.
The inspection were ordered after the rifles started appearing a year in the past on the black market, the place they can fetch as much as $10,000 (£7,785).
The rifles have been placed into storage but have been still in operating order.
Some of them are concept to have ended up in Argentina while others are believed to have been smuggled to Brazil.
