July 10 (UPI) — An American tourist celebrating her one-year anniversary in Mexico City was killed by way of a stray bullet on Saturday, officers confirmed.
Tatiana Mirutenko, 27, was once with her husband James and several other friends as they left a restaurant within the upscale community of Lomas de Chapultepec. Police stated a gunman rode up on a motorcycle and was once aiming for the restaurant’s bouncer, but overlooked and hit Mirutenko within the head, KGO-TELEVISION said.
The bouncer was now not injured. Police haven’t apprehended the shooter.
“The analysis of the surveillance cameras, via the investigation police, allowed us to grasp that the aggressors fled to the State of Mexico,” the Mexico City Lawyer General’s Place Of Job mentioned in an announcement.
Mirutenko’s mother, Natalie Mirutenko, remembered her daughter as someone who may at all times supply “TWO HUNDRED p.c.”
“As a mother, we at all times say issues, but she impressed me to be better. I’d supply my lifestyles if she could just come again,” she advised KGO-TV.
Mirutenko worked as a senior investor members of the family analyst at Nektar Therapeutics in San Francisco. She was once at the beginning from Chicago and used to be a standout volleyball participant at Clemson School.
