A distinguished legal professional who helped defend the former Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic at his war crimes trial has been shot dead.

Dragoslav Ognjanovic, FIFTY SEVEN, was killed on Saturday night outdoor his condominium construction in the capital, Belgrade.

His 26-12 months-old son used to be additionally wounded in the shooting, the inner ministry mentioned in a statement.

Mr Ognjanovic served on the criminal workforce for Mr Milosevic all the way through his trial on the Hague within the early 2000s.

The former president of Serbia was once arrested in 2001 and held at the UN warfare crimes tribunal for genocide and different conflict crimes.

Mr Ognjanovic also served as a defence attorney in numerous prime-profile mafia instances in Serbia and Montenegro.
