An beginner rugby participant who suffered a cardiac arrest has kickstarted a marketing campaign for all grounds in Wales to be geared up with defibrillators.

Ross Cornwell, 28, was gazing a Premiership clash between his antique crew Bargoed and Ebbw Vale when he collapsed two months in the past.

Mr Cornwell has now been made a client of the charity Welsh Hearts.

“I Have never done CPR in my lifestyles, i don’t understand what i would have performed. If it wasn’t for that device he wouldn’t be right here,” she mentioned.

The WRU says all of its skilled regions and Premiership teams are required to have defibrillators.

There are 260 full member clubs and FORTY FOUR district contributors golf equipment as well because the four skilled regions.

A WRU spokesman mentioned: “The welfare of avid gamers, volunteers and spectators in any respect clubs around Wales is of paramount significance to us as a Union and we will proceed to work with companions similar to Welsh Hearts and St Johns Cymru to provide possibilities for grassroots clubs to have the most efficient possible first aid provision and kit.”

Welsh Hearts stated it has installed 50 to 60 defibrillators already.

However, officials from the charity say they “in particular involved” about grassroots golf equipment.
